Most open source teams would love to organise sprints to move their projects forward. They may also dream of attending a specific conference together. However, as they’re often made up of unpaid students, these dreams rarely become a reality.
Kiwi.com has decided to do something about this, so we created the SourceLift Fund to bring communities together. By providing flights, we hope to boost the progress of FOSS projects while rewarding tireless contributors with a well-deserved trip at the same time.
Apply at least a month before your event takes place
Teams must be made up of 3 – 10 members
Each team member may receive a flight voucher of up to 200 EUR
A team of three is still eligible if two members are on location and only one needs a flight
We’ll personally evaluate every application
Projects supported by businesses or major organisations are not eligible (e.g. Docker, nginx, Django, Etsy’s statsd, Apache Airflow, etc)
Our decision is final
We’ll take the following into consideration when selecting applicants:
Read more about SourceLift and the projects we've supported so far
Are these flights for students only?
Who will judge the applications?
Kiwi.com engineers that are involved in OSS communities.
When can I expect a response?
We’ll let you know our decision within two weeks of receiving your application.
